The Third Space Gallery + Digital is a series of windows and shopfronts that can be accessed for exhibitions in the Creative Geelong Hub in Little Malop Street, Geelong, Victoria.

 The rationale for THE THIRD SPACE GALLERY + DIGITAL screens and lightboxes is to enable contemporary media art and design to be visible and accessible to audiences in Geelong and its regional / Western Melbourne audience. We envisage that by installing screens and lightboxes throughout the city for experimental new media work will create a new experience among the public that does not rely on traditional gallery contexts nor advertises products. 

THE THIRD SPACE GALLERY X DIGITAL allows for access to new media works that otherwise may not have been accessible simply because there are no digital screens located for viewing artwork in the region. As such THE THIRD SPACE GALLERY + DIGITAL is the first of its kind; a digital creative innovation for the region meeting the accessibility gap in our emerging art and design landscape.

Curating creatives to use technology in unique ways, using digital screens and lightboxes, captures secondary audiences such as passers-by who often only get to experience digital technologies and lightbox imagery in commercial marketing and advertising in streets and public spaces, but not in creative applications. THE THIRD SPACE GALLERY + DIGITAL enriches the creative art screen experiences beyond commercial (and gallery) applications.
